Sharon
Bass
Executive Director
Sharon has worked at the Volunteer Center since November 1995 and served as Executive Director since December 2002. She has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science degree in Human Development from Texas Tech University.
Her extensive volunteer experience includes serving on numerous community boards including MacKenzie and Lubbock High PTA’s, All Saints Episcopal School Board of Trustees, Junior League of Lubbock, Early Learning Center and City of Lubbock advisory boards. Currently, she serves on the TTU Center for Public Service Advisory Board, the Junior League of Lubbock Advisory Board, and is a Sustaining Advisor to the
Junior League of Lubbock Executive Board.
Her role within the Volunteer Center of Lubbock is to oversee all programs and
functions of the Center’s service. She also provides training, facilitation and consultation
on a wide-range of topics pertinent to effective nonprofit management and leadership
development.
Besides cooking, Sharon enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time
with family and friends.
