Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock

Provides role models to children through a one-on-one mentoring relationship

supported by professionally-trained staff. Volunteers can donate one hour a week

to work with a child at one of our school, after-school or summer locations.

Community Partners of Lubbock

The mission of Greater Texas Community Partners is to meet the critical needs of

abused and neglected children through state and local collaborations. Volunteer

opportunities include helping with clothing or school supply drives, shopping or

making items for the Rainbow Room, and shopping for Christmas gifts for foster

children.

Early Learning Centers of Lubbock

Provides quality child care services in five locations in North & East Lubbock to

preschool children, with fees based on income & eligibility. Youth can help with

painting, crafts, music, reading to children, yard work, one time events or continuing

events. All volunteers present more than one time must have an electronic

fingerprint criminal history at the expense of the volunteer prior to entering the

center.

Family Promise of Lubbock, Inc.

Provides homeless families with children the tools necessary to achieve long term

financial, parental and personal self-sufficiency through a program of temporary

housing, case management and supportive services. Volunteers can mentor young

children and youth who are experiencing temporary homelessness or help with

administrative, fundraising and special event opportunities.

Guadalupe-Parkway Sommerville Centers

Our mission is to meet the needs of the community by providing programs that give

individuals and families opportunities to learn, develop self-esteem and realize their

full potential. Volunteers can interact on our game day, summer camp, fall festival and

tutoring program.

Hope Community of Shalom

The mission is to engage congregations and communities to work together to

experience wholeness and well being. Volunteer areas include art, karate, dance,

tutoring for elementary-aged children, food and clothing for adults in need, and

tutoring for adults.

Lubbock City Museums

Consists of the Buddy Holly Center and Silent Wings museum. Young, enthusiastic volunteers who

have an interest in learning about history and making it come alive for our visitors are wanted.

Opportunities are offered to assist with workshops and public events as well as join a swing

dancing group.

Lubbock Meals on Wheels

Respecting the dignity of every human being, no matter their need or physical

condition, Lubbock Meals on Wheels will provide nutritious home-delivered meals to

those who are homebound, elderly, or disabled. Volunteer opportunities include meal

delivery for anyone with a current Texas driver’s license or with adult

supervision; helping with special events or fundraisers.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest

Creates, finds and supports programs that directly improve the health and well

being of children and their families. Volunteer opportunities include doing light

household chores and cleaning, sorting and putting away donations, baking cookies,

and much more.
