Background Checks
The Volunteer Center of Lubbock ceased to process
criminal background checks February 1st of 2011.
In August of 2010 we set out to add services to the Volunteer Center of Lubbock CBC Program including national background checks and the option for Social Security Verification. Unfortunately, we discovered that the addition of these necessary services would be cost prohibitive to your organization. After much research and consideration we believe it is beneficial to VCL, our participating CBC agencies, and all organizations seeking background checks to discontinue our CBC services and refer you to the VeriFYI program provided by the Volunteer Center of North Texas (VCNT).
Our Decision & Your Future for CBC Checks
This decision has been reached in an effort to serve our community partners in the best manner and is made possible through the Volunteer Center of North Texas. VCNT offers nonprofit organizations a great Criminal Background Check Program named VeriFYI. In partnership between VCL and VCNT your agency will be able to take part in the VeriFYI program with no startup cost. You will simply need to contact the wonderful staff with VeriFYI to setup your organization.
Procedures, Details, & Cost of VeriFYI
The VeriFYI program will offer background checks to your organization through an online interface. You simply login to the VeriFYI website, submit your request, and receive the results by email. Typical turnaround time is the next business day. The check will return Multi-jurisdictional Records, National Database Search of Sex Offenders, Texas State Records, & Social Security Trace for a low price of $7.30 per check. Additional options will include Motor Vehicle Reports (available for all 50 states), Academic Certification, Drug Tests, and more.
