Partnering For Good

Strengthening Our Community Through Impactful and Collaborative Efforts

Partnering for Good

Everything we do is made possible through partnerships. Together our goal is to not only transform the South Plains but to transform the world. A thriving community is a collaborative one – a community in which everyone is coming together to meet individual and corporate needs. The Volunteer Center exists to be a hub for collaboration between for profits, nonprofits, schools, individuals, and organizations of all types.

Together our goal is to not only transform the South Plains but to transform the world.

A thriving community is a collaborative one—a community in which everyone is coming together to meet individual and corporate needs. Our agency partnerships are at the very heart of everything we do at the Volunteer Center. And, it is our privilege to inspire a more engaged South Plains community by building up those who are making a difference in the lives of so many and by helping them to fulfill their unique missions and visions.

Partnership Opportunities

The Volunteer Center exists to be a hub for collaboration between for profits, nonprofits, schools, individuals, and organizations of all types.

Nonprofits

Our agency partnerships are at the very heart of everything we do at the Volunteer Center. Partners receive benefits such as a free account on our online volunteer community Get Connected, promotion in our Guide to Volunteering in Lubbock and eNewsletters, discounted fees on workshops and consultations, and opportunities to connect with the community at Volunteer Center agency fairs and events.

It is our privilege to inspire a more engaged South Plains community by building up those who are making a difference in the lives of so many and by helping them to fulfill their unique missions and visions.

Sponsorships

We want to maximize the amount of exposure your company receives! Program and event sponsorship opportunities are as little as $500 all the way up to $25,000, depending on what best fits your company budget.

Our annual Service & Leadership Symposium, Cornucopia Luncheon, and our Post-Masters Golf Tournament, as well as many other events, programs and awards are all amazing opportunities your company can sponsor as a Volunteer Center champion.

With your financial donation, we are able to recruit more volunteers, work with more agencies, and serve those in need, making Lubbock a better place to live and work for all. To learn more about sponsorship opportunities, please contact Sharon Bass at sbass@volunteerlubbock.org.

Businesses

The South Plains area is home to many great businesses making an impact in our community. We want to make it easy for businesses to make that impact. We help to make service easy by connecting businesses with local agencies needing volunteers and other support. We offer presentations on volunteering and community engagement, volunteer matching services to help employees find their best fit, and help companies create employee volunteer programs. We also offer extensive leadership programming for young professionals wanting to make an impact and for teams that want to become more high performing.

To learn more about business partnership opportunities, email Sharon Bass at sbass@volunteerlubbock.org or give us a call at (806) 747-0551.

Individuals

At the Volunteer Center, we believe impact comes first. We believe what we do matters and is making a difference on the South Plains. When we talk to people about giving to the Volunteer Center, we truly see it as an investment. We want you to see a return on every dollar—a more engaged community, people finding their purpose and acting on it, the next generation of leaders discovering a passion for service. If we’re not making an impact, then we’re not worth your investment. But we are.

Where your investment goes:

Last year students at our 40 partnering schools logged 312,317 hours and raised $208,273 for area agencies. We made 8,544 volunteer referrals to our more than 100 agency partners. 1,211 professionals participated in workshops and consultations, receiving 3,392 hours of training.

  • $8 connects an adult volunteer to a community need
  • $100 mobilizes 5 youth volunteers to support area nonprofits
  • $1,500 engages 3 participants in transformative leadership programming
  • $5,000 the annual cost to support one school or agency partner.

There are many ways to invest in the Volunteer Center’s impact. To learn more about investment opportunities, email Sharon Bass sbass@volunteerlubbock.org or give us a call at (806) 747-0551.

Schools

Volunteering changes the lives of those who give and those who receive. The goal of the Youth In Service Program is to build the next generation of community leaders by recognizing young people for the service they provide and by giving them training and support to develop service programs in their schools.

Currently, we partner with 40 South Plains middle school and high schools. In September, youth and sponsors from each school attend our Service Leadership Symposium where they receive training focused on generating ideas, developing strategies to implement service projects, and motivating student involvement. At the Symposium, students also have the opportunity to connect with local agencies and to do hands-on service projects they can recreate at their school. Throughout the school year, the schools submit reports and photos documenting school-wide volunteer efforts and receive ongoing support from our staff.

Participating schools are then recognized at our annual Celebration of Service Luncheon in May and receive an award check to use for volunteer projects the next year.
